    Spindle accel/decel load

In an effort to improve chip-chip time, I've noticed the spindle load during spindle acceleration and deceleration is only 50% with my tool with the largest moment of inertia. Additionally, the spindle acceleration/deceleration is painfully slow. (like 3 seconds to get to 6000 rpm)

I realize that the spindle drive parameters from the factory consider that the spindle should to be able to accelerate an impractically large and heavy tool. However, these parameters may be leaving some valuable cycle time on the table for other.

Has anybody else made any adjustments on the spindle drive? If so, what spindle load do you like to see during acceleration/deceleration?

(I've seen other brand machines going way over 100% spindle load during acceleration/deceleration)

    My '94 10000 RPM spindle(DC) ramps at 90 - 95%.
Not of any help really but FYI.

If you expect to get a usable fix motor type and drive will need to be known.

    Sorry,
I forgot that there are different types. It has brushless AC motor with a Yaskawa drive (I think it is a vector drive)

    7500rpm, rigid tap
