    Spindle Alarm

    I'm getting an alarm on my Meldas 500 controller.

    <STOP CODE>
    T02 Feed Hold 0204

    <ALARM MESSAGE>
    Spindle Rotation Malfunction

    <OPERATOR MESSAGE>
    Check point ! 1.Y2D0.Y2D1 Signa

    Anybody know what's up. I talked to a tech. He did some troubleshooting and said the spindle controller was OK. He thought something else in the ladder was holding up. Like the probe arm or something. I noticed the probe arm doesn't go down when I give the command. I have to tug on it. It goes back up though when I give the M81

    Your Probe arm is a definite clue. Check for chips that are causing it to stick and check to see that the probe is not sticking.
    The spindle will not start if the control thinks the arm isn't home.

    Did you ever solve this problem? I am having the same problem with the same control. How did you fix it?
