The problem I am having is no matter where on the work area I place the object to be engraved it starts engraving at the home position. Does anybody know how to change this without upgrading to a dsp or using different software.

Its a k40 running moshidraw 2014

Hello, this is Nolan from Thunderlaser, can you post some pictures of your software settings and the panel. can you see the "origin" button on panel?
we use RDC6442G controller not Moshidraw, even though it is different, maybe some function is the same.

Yeah... I *think* I had the same problem. My solution was to put a single dot on the bottom right corner of all drawings.

I *always* put the dot in the same location for all drawings (for me, I put it at X,Y = 10", -9.5" or something). Once the dot is there, the dot defines the bottom-right-corner of a rectangle (and of course, the top-left-corner of the rectangle is the home position).

Now, I can plop artwork anywhere within that rectangle, and it'll be lasered properly.
