I've got a 4020 with a 30 tool servo turret ATC that has had intermittant carosel positioning issues for a couple of years. 2 years ago it was having an issue with picking up the wrong tool, fadal replaced everything (literally) in the ATC's control system and the problem went away. now it has had an interrmittant issue with the carosel lining up about 1/2" off to the spindle comes down knocks my $750 custom ground end mill (amoung others) out. it has gone as long as 3 days with no issue then it drops a tool but when it started it would drop a tool at least once per cycle.
details:
it faults moving cw or ccw
it's always misaligned with the carosel too far to rear.
new $900 servo turret motor-- didn't solve it.
new eprom on the controller card-- didn't solve it
medium fast speed on the carosel speed-- didn't solve it
medium slow may have solved it, that is the latest try and it's been 3 days, but what kind of "fix" is that? the benefit of the servo turret is gone when it is slow speed.
all voltages look good 5v and 160v
has the newest power supply
Fadal's techs have looked at it and I've had numerous calls to fadals tech support. at this point we are throwing hail marys and hoping it catches one for a touchdown.
has anyone else delt with a problem like this and what fixed it?
