Need Yaskawa magnetic encoder ring, UTMSI type

I am in need of the magnetic ring (aka drum) for a integrated spindle motor.

Original p/n is UTMSI-10AABDZE, which is a kit of three parts. The drum, a sensor and a mounting bracket.

    I only need the drum.

Somebody out there probably has been in the opposite situation

and only needed the sensor/reader and still has the drum.

Yaskawa is out of stock and they're kinda pricy.

I erased portions of the encoded data on the smooth 8-track tape-like OD surface

with a magnetic pick-up fishing for a screw.

I think any drum with a similar p/n starting with UTMSI-10AA will work,

as long as the OD (appx 4.495) and ID (82mm/3.230") are the same

    Hello,

I am pretty sure I have one, just have to check the model. What did yaskawa quote you? I bought the larger series (20AA) just for the sensor and it was 3400 or so.

Yaskawa quotes about $1900. Not available till the end of May...

I'm not sure that a p/n starting with 20A would work. Those first three digits have to do with the PPR (pulses per rev). I need 1024 PPR. 20A is not listed on my sheet.

Are the physical dimensions the same?

The dimensions are not the same for a 10 and a 20. I was saying I know your pain in the cost. I might have a spare 10AA, sorry should have been clearer.

Let me me see what i can find.

a drum itself shouldn't cost that much...
have you checked renishaw they might have one? with same parameters?

I don't think they have """yaskawa"" but same diameter and same resolution...
