I was thinking about doing a Servo ATC upgrade to replace the Geneva setup. I don't suppose anyone here has any insight on this?

What are you trying to achieve? faster tool changes?
Kinda like putting track shoes on a tortoise since Fadals do nothing fast. I've always just tried to write my programs to pick up the adjacent tool in the magazine.
If you leave the magazine loaded with common tools that are used for many programs, It would make more sense to go with a servo. Watching that thing do a 180 with the geneva drive is painful.
If you come up with something, make sure to post it.
Good luck.
It wont work. Fadal had a software in the software module for a time period in the late 90s that spun the tool changer and it would throw tools out the opening. Get better at tool setup or get another machine.
We have had good luck with our Fadals milling mostly soft steel and aluminum up to 5 axis. We are always looking for spare parts If you have a broken down Fadal give a shout.
