is it worth adjusting the tailstock or is it adjustable? I'm just learning the machine and I usually just program the taper out of it.

I would say it is absolutley worth it to adjust the tailstock. The tailstock on my TL1 is adjustable. Untighten but leave snug the four large allen-head fasteners on the top and use the four smaller allens-heads on the sides to adjust. Mount dial indicator on carriage and travel the Z.
I figured as much. I like having them as close as possible to running true. Thanks
