    Where to find card/software version

Where do you find the card/software version number ( -4, -5 ) on a Fadal 4020 and a VMC 40? What does it cost to upgarde to the newest -5 version?

    Thanks,

    Scott

The shortcut way is to type "MU" then hit "backspace". that takes you to the last page of the menu.

Tom is correct as far as he went. The ID number list on the last page of the menu is your Software Version number. To tell if it is -4 or -5 system you must pull the CPU card out of slot five. That is the 1400 board. look at the silk screened number and if it is a 1400-4 it is a dash four system or 1400-5 it is a dash five system.

I completed a software upgrade this weekend. You may find it interesting.

Thanks for all of the info. One of my machines has a -2a and the other has a -4 card. What is the advantage to going to the -5 cards? What is the approx. cost to do the upgrade. The -2a machine is a '92 and the -4 machine is a '90 if that make any difference.

    Thanks,

    Scott
