    Running a Fanuc spindle motor

I have a Fanuc Spindle Motor that I would like to put on a machine that I am retrofitting. Does anyone know where to find a drive to power the motor? I also have some Fanuc red cap servo motors. What drive can I use to power them? Can the motor and servos be controlled by a PC control like MAch 3?

    Thanks,

    Scott

Most AC spindle motors are just vector rated three phase motors, you can either get sophisticated spindle drives from Mitsubishi etc with internal braking and speed control from the pulse generator feedback, or match up the correct voltage to a VFD, many VFD's also offer the same advanced features.
