    i don't know where to begin .

    i am looking for someone near canberra to help me get 2 cnc routers going, both work but i don't know the first thing about using them.one is a very large woodworking router the other a multi cam router which use to run in a sign shop. it would be great to find someone to help. or who would i call in the ACT area how could help, i am willing to pay or let you use the machines.

    thanks for replying,
    i am at a very early stage.i have a pc connected to the machine,it has a drawing and tool path program loaded in it(this was used in the previous shop). that is where my knowledge stops.i will find out today what the programs are .so the machine is a cam tech with tool path for windows 98 and coreldraw 11

    Hi Paul You are (kind of) where i was 3 years ago. Wanted to understand CNC Routers and/or Milling. For me i just watched a lot of videos of different people building the machines and then researched the parts on what they were, did , cost, how they functioned, also what there limits were, i.e differnent wood cutting speeds and feeds and second S&F link, i also looked at the different cutting heads and what was available and what work best for each material.
    It will take time. I also found that anything i can Mill, I can route. so don't just limit yourself to Routing. Also it might help to get a few local links for companies that sell parts that you might need. I collected quiet a few, and also various other links.
