Hi All,

Not sure if this is in the right section,

I've got a 3040 Chinese machine that blew a fuse the other day.

Stopped the machine straight away.

I didn't have any more fuses so had to go buy some.

Put the new one in but now whenever I turn on the unit power it turns on the spindle and I have no control over the RPM.

Same issue as this Video but couldn't find any links for it.

I han the same problem. I thinkni blew something else. go to Best CNC Router/Engraver New Products?OMIOCNC(Carving-CNC) -omiocnc.com and buy a new board called PW3618 power board or try to fix that one you have. Can be a consitor or Resistor that you blew.

My machine works fine now with the new board!

Had the same issue. The spindle was stuck =DC motor going low resistance = fuse blown. But the fuse was too slow and the driver chip burned and became basically a wire, conducting the maximum spindle power at all times.

Thanks Guys, I was hoping not to replace it but I think I will have to. Even if I repair one thing who's to say something else isn't damaged.

My other concern is if I get a new board whats to stop this happening again?


Having a closer inspection to mine it looks like IRF740 has melted the washer(you can see in the pictures), what's the best way to test it to see if that my problem?

Try to change it. You have nothing to lose atm! or get a new board if you destroy it trying!

It worked! Replaced the IRF740 and working again!
