Help! k40 Laser Engraves Slower than Speed Setting

I jsut got my new K40 laser set up with CorelDraw12 and LaserDRW. I was able to align the mirrors and attempted to send some text to engrave to test the machine. I set the engrave speed at 250 mm/s but the machine moved extremely slow. There is no way the machine was moving at 250 mm/s. Has anyone had this issue or does anyone know what may be causing it?

Thanks that fixed it. Had the b1 board selected in the software but actual board is m2. I've been engraving all day now!

I didn't think it would work at all with a different board series or serial number selected? Good catch Miketola. We really need a K40 sticky for stuff like this.

One little tip for the DRW editor if you plan on designing anything in it, you can use "solid white" objects placed where you want to "erase"other lines or parts of other objects. Since it's my only vector editor I have taken this to a ridicules degree. Very tedious but works. Good luck!

    Thanks Miketola,
I have been struggling with this issue for a while now. Once I read this post and changed my mainboard setting to the correct board (Laser-M2 in my case), I was up and running in less than a minute. I can't begin to tell you how grateful I am.

    Hi Sir,

The 250mm/s is just a accelerated speed not the real speed...That's why you have the doubts... If your machine's real speed really slow, there are maybe two reasons, one is the quality of the machine not good, so you need to change one. The other is the power of the machine is not enough for engraving our materials. And you need to buy a powerful one.
