i loved using the xbox controller is mach 3. i would like to get it going in emc2. i have ubuntu 10.04 and linuxcnc 2.6.

i have tried some of the online how to's to get the xbox360 controller to work in ubuntu, but cant get it to be recognized by the pc.

once i get it going at all, what is the process for telling linuxcnc what to do based on the buttons and sticks being used?


i know people have done this. just dont know how. people who have managed to do it dont seem to post on how to do it.

I use QJoyPad with linuxcnc to map my controller. It assigns keyboard presses to the buttons on your joypad. If you google qjoypad linuxcnc you will find any info you need.

will it work with the analog sticks on the 360 controller?

I use the analog stick for the mouse. I don't remember what else it can do.

I had a PS3 controller, so i used qtsixa. Rob is right you are mapping the keyboard commands to the controller. here is a cheat sheet:Attachment 285120
