so.... i have a 3 axis sherline mill with a 4, or 5 axis bob(tb6560? pretty sure{its red}). tried to run linux, computer hated it, switched to mach 3 which my bob is most friendly with. had the most luck at this point, but also fried my x and z on my initial trial. y was the only axis to try to move. x and z immidiately popped and snapped and smoke followed. gave up for a couple weeks, then tonight plugged in my power supply and it would just smoke. pried back and forth on the fairly sized black chips that were obviously burnt till they broke off and removed them(x,z). then y fried as soon as i plugged the power supply in. pried that chip out as well... leaving me with "A"... so i hooked my x stepper to the A output on my bob. i had very little movement with console commands and erratic sound. id type a.5 in console and it would move maybe 5/1000(estimate). i messed around with this for some time then i just assigned keyboard buttons to move the axis... as soon as i touched the newly assigned buttons, it fried my last axis on the bob.... I have a feeling im overlooking an important step in the set-up process. im not new to cnc machines or g-code... but i am new to setting up a machine for myself..... any input is greatly appretiated... btw i need to buy a new bob before i can do anymore damage...... lol
