Have tried to download the software online and it has failed on two laptops running windows 8.1. Anyone know where I can get it from or buy it on disk?

if you mean PC-FAPT, it works only in Windows XP. it is discontinued and there is no support.
use XP and it requires a dongle, it won't work without it.
or use a different program.

PC FAPT is a 16-bit program written when Windows 3.1 was active. It can also run on XP but it's no longer available since around 2007.
You can't buy a dongle for it anywhere, not at any price. Use different modern CAM software.

Thank you fordav11 - don't suppose you know why there are no dongles around, am guessing its because people who have them are still using them?

because they abandoned it 10 years ago and use modern and powerful CAM software on modern PCs.
FAPT is a niche market for people who used it in the 80's and 90's. very few people understand it enough to do any job using it and because it wont run on Windows 7 and almost everyone upgraded it no longer works so they tossed it in the bin and they moved on to different programs that run on Windows 7 etc, most of which are a lot cheaper than FAPT was selling for back in 2000.
