    Communicating with Fadal

Hi, just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to figure this problem out.

We have 2 older Fadal Vmc's.

Never had an issue drip feeding to them using NCFADAL program on our old computer.
Upgraded to a new computer last week with windows 7. Installed old NCFADAL program to drip feed to machine. Used all the same settings as we had on the old computer baudrate, etc. We finally got it to send something to the machines but its not right. Basically the program is some random garbage.... The only thing changed is the new computer. If anyone has any suggestions it would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

I was able to work it with Win7 for many years, but about a year ago, after an update it quit.
After trying many different com software and hardware I have given up and gone with a calmotion device.
I am glad NCFadal is still working for you, it is the easiest setup you can get.

Yes NcFadal is nice and easy but has limitations...

I am also trying to figure out how to get it to send to 2 different machines at the same time from the same computer. We do a lot of long programs surfacing etc... I can get it to send to each machine using the different port settings no problem. When I open another window of NcFadal and change the port setting to send to machine 2 at the same time it just errors out.

Guess I will have to look for another program capable of doing this.

Have a look at machinelink plus. It will run 5 machines at once. Pretty sure Predator has something similar.

So far I have tried DNC max by CIMCO, and PRO ezDNC. All the settings seem correct but I can only get random garbage code to the machine. Maybe try that machine link plus next.....

I have been very happy with the software from dncsoftware. It's been running my Fadal 3016 for the last 7 years. Using Xmodem (DNCX on the Fadal) protocol and the Keyspan serial adapter.

Here's a link to their software:
