Hey All,

I built a router CNC machine about 5yrs ago when I was in college. I have a Gecko G540 running it. I have other CNC mills and hadn't used it in awhile and also move. When I recently hooked it back up everything still runs but I noticed this noise when running the carriage in all directions. Its a disruption to humming from the motors. It happens immediately so its not motors over heating and with the heat sink I have on the drive I don't see how it could be the G540 overheating. I have tried adjusting the trim pots, the power supply and it doesn't change anything. I bought a brand new powersupply and tried it, still no change. I went back through the machine to make sure all the lead screws are square and clean because it almost sounds like the machine is briefly binding for a second, but it doesn't happen at the same spot everytime and it happens on all 3 axis. The link below is to some videos where I recorded the sound in hopes someone could help me out.
