Alright I currently have a 1998 EZ-TRAK setup running version 6 which has been updated sometime before I bought it with an EMI motherboard. after doing some extensive reading it seems that there are not a lot of people who have personally done the conversion or those who have say that it is difficult at best.
From what I have read I am led to the following:
1. The mechanical portion can be picked up from Elrod Machine
2. Need Z axis motor (MT30H4-44)
3. Need a axis pwr amp (MHB12020-00)
4. Wire axis pwr amp according to Dwg. 1943390 (Rev, J)
Here is where I need some guidance:
1. Reading has led me to believe the motor needs both motor & encoder plugs (encoder not shown in the Dwg. referenced above) so in 3 axis mode it will mill properly and also needs the z axis scale when in two axis mode for feedback but on the AXS BOB does the encoder cable JP4 plug? And where does the other one plug into?
2. The Z axis limit switch should plug into JP11 but there is already something plugged into it. What would be occupying this on a 2 axis machine?
3. Lets say I get far enough in the conversion that I need to power up the machine, how do I get it to recognize the new 3rd axis?
