    newbie problem!

Don't you just love it when news ask goofy questions? i have a n old (early nineties) Techno which has been great for the past few years. just recently it started to wiggle around in what appears to be mostly the x axis, sometimes offsetting the cuts by as much as .1". now when i try to engrave, the font is all screwy. any idea what might cause this?

i attached a picture of the outcome, it is supposed to be a standard ariel font, at 24. it looks fine in the preview screen, and the out put is pretty similar every time, but not exactly.

any help would be greatly appreciated!

Is your x axis motor direct drive or is it belt drive?

It looks like something's worked loose in your X axis. Check the connections between the motor and the screw (there should be a coupler in there; make sure there's no play in it.) If you take a Sharpie and make some marks across the connections, you'll be able to tell if there's movement. Check to see that the screw itself is tight in its bearings.
