Hey does anyone have an idea of whats the best material to machine for metal molds?
I would think Aluminum but i always end up seeing some type of surface steps/lines its never shiny enough for me to get a good smooth mold.

Molds rarely come finished straight from the machine. If you really want to make high quality molds you need to learn the hand work. It is a art that will need much practice.

There are machines and tooling that make it possible to get finished or close to finished molds straight from the machine. If your budget is in the hundreds of thousands they may be a option. If not the hand work is the only way to go.

Hey Ben, Just checked out the website you linked over and that gave me alot of basic information that i needed to understand the process of mold making, I thank you for that.
What Machines/Tooling are you talking about when you say it can bring me a close to finish product straight from the machine?
