When using my plasmacam machine I get Machine Control Error "Short circuit in power to one or more of these motors: Z. When I initialize the machine everything will work again. Sometimes it works great and other times I have to initialize the machine 4 or 5 times. Anyone ever have this problem?

I haven't had an issue with that error ever popping up before, but is sounds like something that you should call plasmacam's tech support to help you out with. They have been tremendously helpful when it comes to helping out with these things. If you end up needing a replacement z and it's a newer plasmacam machine, its under warranty for 3 years.

Once in a while, my Samson will not initialize. It tries, but locks up on the X-axis and will not budge. My solution is to initialize the machine with the gantry somewhere in the middle of the table, and manually press the X-HOME microswitch with my finger, which tells the table that it has reached the HOME position, even though it is not at the HOME position. The next initialize will return the gantry to HOME, assuming I had manually moved the gantry before the second initialization. I don't know why it happens, but that is the most reliable solution to the problem.
