    Mystery DC servo drive

I inherited a DIY machine running Mach3 with DC servos.

I got only hardware so I have to re-configure the software.

It came with servo drives I've never seen before.

The system builder is sick and unavailable.

After a couple hours sprelunking the web, I still can't find
    anything on them.

I'm hoping someone out there might recognize them.

Here's the only ID they have.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Mystery DC servo drive

That logo is Fastprint. It's a printed circuit board manufacturer in China. They probably got contracted out to design and layout the printed circuit board for some OEM.

Unless there is another company name on the underside of the board of the actual designer, it's going to be difficult on finding any docs.

The logo of the encoder disk is probably the designer but I've never seen that before.

That or they could be some DIY design that float around here every once in a while, like JFong said check the back of the board, if nothing there its going to be tough. Im guessing the servo tuning on the board is already done. should not be to hard to find the steps per inch even by trial and error. Then start with medium speeds and low accel decel settings in mach and go from there. Other than that i'd check how good they look in the garbage can....

Also to add the terminals L1 L2 L3 leads me to believe it's a brushless driver. I thought I knew most of the motor driver manufacturers but that square logo of the encoder disk is something I've haven't seen before. I've checked a recent database of several hundred motor manufacturers and no logo similar to that came up.

They were connected to DC brushed servos. They also lack labels but their form factor closely matches DC brushed servos sold by Keling. Based on the condition of the wasteboard, the machine was operational.

    Thanks for your input.

Can you post some pictures of the motors and maybe something more than just the board of the drive? Maybe one of the drive a bit farther back with the cables connected?

Most brushless drivers can also run brushed motors too. Take a look at all the leadshine servo drives. See if the connector inputs match to your drive. Just a hunch since a lot of kieling motors were sold with leadshine drives. Some of the older leadshine were cloned by 3rd party and sold on eBay. It may not have leadshine name on it which may be the case here.

Also send a inside/outside image of the entire controller box showing the drives and wiring.

I'm in the process of rewiring his control box. I'll send photos when it's presentable.

    Thanks

The company logo and drive looks to me might be a Granite Devices servo drive, (see granitedevices.com)

    You nailed it.

It is a Granite Devices VSD-A.

    Excellent.

    Thank You.

Nice, the brushless driver specs looks to be really good. Better than the Applied Motion drives I have.
