    Carbon Air-Arc: Electrode

I know this is off-topic for this forum, but the community on here has been great and well supportive.

I am starting to get more into welding and cutting processes with plasma and other alternatives. I started to get into Carbon Air-Arc cutting and have one question: When using the electrode, if you do not use the whole stick, can you re-use this? Is there a way to refurbish it or it is a onetime use? I have been told that once you start using the electrode, it’s dead once you stop no matter how much is left. Others have indicated there is a process to get these going again.

    What is your experience?

    Any suggestions are appreciated.
