    MACH 3: BUTTONS - CYCLE START, FEED HOLD & STOP

    Hello,

    I've been working on my machine retrofit off and on for a while now and have made the mistake of taking for granted that information for wiring these buttons physically on the machine was somewhere buried in the help section of Mach3 .PDF manual or the PMDX-126 breakout board manual. There is evidence e out there in youtube etc., that shows people have done this.

    Evidently I need the most basic of help with how to set up the inputs in Mach3 to emulate these buttons externally.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Try assigning the pin #'s to Ports and Pins, Input signals, OEM Triggers 1-3.

    Then in Config > Hotkeys, enter the following OEM codes for the trigger #'s:

    1 = 1000 (Cycle Start)
    2 = 1001 (Feedhold)
    3 = 1003 (Stop)

    Here's a list of the OEM codes:

    Cool, you are very helpful. Next question.

    How hard is it to connect potentiometers for SPINDLE RATE OVERRIDE and FEED RATE OVERRIDE ?
    Do you have any diagrams or links to point me to a solution?

    Really like your 2010 screen set by the way. Bought it and tried it out but not using it yet. I have 2 tables on my machine and I would like to get some advise from you at some point for controlling them for individual use, interchanging axis and slaving to run as one large table. Would be nice to have maybe a rotary selector to control all that. However if it is pretty difficult it will have to wait Also have an umbrella type tool changer on the machine that I would like to utilize in Mach3 but that is way on the back burner.

    Thanks ger21, You are a rock star.

    Depends on what you're connecting them to, and if your using the parallel port, or a motion controller. The easiest way is with a motion controller with analog inputs that support this functionality.

    If you are using a VFD for your Spindle Drive, you can use a remote Pot to control the spindle RPM, so if you are using a VFD look at it's spec's, they are quite easy to implement, most us a 10K Pot

    Or if you are using PWM out from your PMXD Breakout Board then you may be able to connect direct to the Breakout Board or tap into that feed to the Spindle

    Looks like you can use low cost encoders, along with Brains and a macro to do it. https://www.machsupport.com/forum/in...?topic=11969.0

    Some of the better controllers (CS Labs) allow you to just wire up a pot to them to do it, but I don't believe the ESS can do this.
