Can a bad tube burn up a power supply?

So I took the plunge and bought a KH7050B laser cutter. This is my first laser cutter so I don't know much about them as far as the laser parts go. My question is this, I was pulsing the laser checking mirror alignment and the laser quit firing, I checked my power settings, and tried to fire it a couple more times, and the laser wouldn't fire.I checked to make sure that the Laser PSU had power and it was on. I cycled the power on the machine, laser still wouldn't fire. Then the power supply shut down and wouldn't power up. The fuse blew on the power supply, I tried replacing the fuse and it blows as soon as it turns on. I am prepared to replace the power supply but then I was wondering if the tube could has caused the power supply to go out. I don't want to burn up the new power supply if this tube is bad. Thanks for any help.

You may check it without laser. Just switch machine off, wait 15-20 minutes to clear PSU from power, disconnect anode (red) cable from laser and isolate it very well.
For 100% sure and safe put red cable`s end into a dry glass bottle. Take care with the laser, it is very fragile.
Than insert new fuse and press test for a moment. Nothing should happen.
If this time fuse will survive you will make another test.
