Post Vector programming for 5 axis

    Hello
I am trying to configure post for 5x machine table-table type with Sinumerik 840D sl.
Siemens 840D sl has a support for vector programming that uses in the same line coordinates for XYZ point (contact point for tool tip and stock) and coordinates of direction vector of tool that uses coordinates A3 B3 C3 for definig tool orientation relative to plane. This is used for simultaneous 5 axis machining. It shold be more accurate, and it has an advantage, that machine itself calculates rotations of A axis and C axis based on a given vector.

More information on vector programming explanation for siemens is here:
    https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/sieme...s-tim-markoski

Post creates direct coordinates of XYZ and A axis and C axis, and it looks like this:

    ...
    > G93 X-47.0032 Y15.4542 Z10.0383 A-34.663 C-143.033 F446.3635
    > G94 X32.8948 Y-34.0082 Z-24.1637 F445.634
    > G93 X32.7227 Y-33.9859 Z-23.9637 A-33.796 C-142.056 F443.4284
    ...

I need to reconfigure post to give me XYZ coordinates and direction vector. Problem is that I dont know how to calculate a vector from variables used in SolidCAM, or if SolidCAM has some variables that are used directly for vector of tool orientation.

It should look e.g. like this:
    X35 Y-33 Z-23 A3=0 B3=0 C3=1

Thank you for any advices, I searched and I cannot find anything on this.

Re: Vector programming for 5 axis

    Hello Friend,

I am also working on 5-axis with Siemens 840D in SolidCAM .
I do not know yet how to do it . I've done for Mitsubushi M64 command 4 axes.
FANUC 4 axes , among others.
    When work I post here.

    Grateful,

    Rodrigo .
