I have an project of bulding an CO2 laser cutter/engraver.
and I am looking for Nema 23 motor + driver or Leadshine motor + driver.

I intend to do engraveing and cutting. Is stepper og servo motor recommended ?

I am from Norway and I plan to use an co2 or RF tube. Want to cut and engrave on acryilic sheets.

So servos are better for you. But steppers are cheaper.
Have some NEMA 17, 400 steps/rev but aint cheap.
Ask Leadshine. Thay had small servos some time ago.
What systema re you going to use?

Was thinking of RD6442S or AWC 708 lite..

Both are wrong choice.
What is your machine working area?

it is around 40x60cm

So you need NEMA17. Best 400 steps/rev.
Or small servos.

For Y best is double sided shaft.
