Exclamation Bad connectionof the cable or bad bob

    Hello..
    Try to explain...

E have everything correct in mach3...

When i use the keyboard to move the motors X,Y,Z A(slave of Y) i have a problem...

When using the X and Z the pressing the keys several times the same key or right or left runs ok... No problem...

When i use Y and A or just Y i have problem.. Press 4 or 5 times the motor make the correct move but sometimes go to right and then left and right again and left again pressing the same key...

The connections are in good condition... I have the wiring correct...

I use a WCH-PCI express to pararell port

    Bad 25Pin cable?

Or maybe is the board... i use this one: bl-mach-v1.1

    Or... Bad motor....

    Regards.

I don't believe that the WCH-PCI express is supported by Mach3, plus if you have windows 7 to parallel port it's no going to happen

You need to have a UC100 to make your Parallel Port connection

    Hello.
First thanks to try to help me...

I have this maybe 1 year... Never had problem... With the same desktop pc (win 7 32b and the same wch-pci) and all the rest...
This week i disassembly the machine to put new parts (wood) and i putted the motors to work... And this is the first time that i see the motors like this... But only Y and A axis (A is slave to Y)... The rest is ok...

You will have to post, how you setup the PCI, plus what driver you used, lots have tried this and failed, Windows 7 will support a parallel port, but most have problems with it driving Mach3

Are you using XP mode for this setup?

On this moment I'm in work...
When get home i will post everything that i use. XP mode? No... Install mach3 normally... The only thing that always appears since i start tho use a cnc is a "?" in the icon in pulse of mach3 in device manager...
But when i get home i post the rest..

    Back home...

Never used XP mode.. Going to download and check...

I swap the motors and only happens in Y and A, the X and Z axis works like a charm...

    In the pc:
Install drivers to the pararell port :

    CH38XDRV

    Install Mach3 and Pulseing Engine
    In the icon appears "?"

Then use 0xb100 in the Port

    2/3 X axis
    4/5 Y axis
    6/7 Z axis
    8/9 A axis

All with the same configuration (Step Low Active all enable)

Slave the A axis to Y axis

The wiring to the 4 motors:

    A+ Black
    A- Green
    B+ Red
    B- Blue

    Stepper Motor:
    DM542A
    1 - 3 - 5 - 7 - 8 Position ON
    2 - 4 - 6 Positon OFF

    The board:

That's my configuration.. And untill a few days works everything ok...

But after disassemby everything and yesterday just to see i connect the motors and the Y and A works like that..

This is my configuration to the motors...

I thought you were using a laptop with an express card, I have tried 3 different cards and none would supported Mach3, having a desktop is a different storey, no problem with this having/using a parallel port

To test the cable run a program and check with a meter and see if you are getting the 0-5v out,on the X Y axes pins, then do the same for the breakout board, it may be the wiring between the drives and the breakout board, what part did you disconnect, that is most likely where your problem is, it may also be a drive problem, I have a board like this, which makes it easy to test computer output, cables Etc

    Thanks mactec54...

    :-)

I think that the problem is in the cable...
I changed everything not bought cables... Damn!! miss that...

Only tomorrow now i can test it...

    Thanks again.

    Solved...

The B- was not connecting in the stepper motor...

    Many thanks!
