    BMC20 (ish) ballscrew bearings

    Hi Guys!

I've recently acquired a VMC that is branded up as something other than a Hurco, but has a Hurco BMC 20 Iron underneath. I've concluded that the Y axis ballscrew bearings need replacing, which looks quite a straight forward job. I also have an assembly diagram, which tells me the part numbers etc.

I just thought I'd check with someone who has some experience with this task before I get myself in lumber. My machine has a fanuc control with AC servos. Should the orientation of the pulleys / motor / ballscrew be maintained during dissassembly / assembly? I'm wondering if the machine will reference correctly if the orientation changes. I'm unsure of the reference sequence that a fanuc control uses to achieve machine zero.

Any other helpful pointers would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

Here is the thread where Bloke gives all the information I needed to replace mine. Yes, it is all pretty straight forward and you shouldn't have any trouble doing it.
