    autocad dwg 2010

I have several drawings that were created in autocad 2010. However now I am using 2012, and the files will not open, and I get a message from autocad indicating that I need the DWG viewer to open the file. I downloaded the application, and installed it from the autocad website, but when I execute it, I get the attached error. Does anyone know if the view works with Win 7? Or a way to open and print my drawings?

Newer versions of AutoCAD should open ALL older version files. Not sure what your problem is, but re-read the error message.

that sounds like when you try to open a DXF in windows or in a browser - open the file using the open command from inside autocad - it should open correctly or display a clear error message -

In case threads and the guide aren't effective, then try to use more powerful solution for complicated AutoCAD corruptions https://www.openfiletool.com/dwgopen.html DWG Open File Tool

    • Try to open the drawing file directly instead of using the Recent Documents menu.
    • Check that the storage location that holds the drawing is working properly.
    • Use the RECOVER and RECOVERALL commands on the drawing.
    • Attempt to insert the damaged file into a clean drawing or template using the INSERT command.
