Just wondering if anyone has tried using a timing belt instead of a lead screw like a printer (dot matrix or inkjet) uses to move the z axis? Using a tensioner to tighten the belt and drive with a stepper from one end. I am looking for a alternative to the 64" 5/16" threaded rod (the WHIPMASTER) as I like to call it. Comparing gear rack and a larger acme rod. Also wonder if I could us it on my Y axis on both sides and drive with 1 stepper
