roland modela mdx 15 serial cable

Does anybody have a schematic diagram for a RS 232 cable for a Roland Modela MDX 15 milling /scanning machine ?

The producer treats that cable as "optional" and their local representative doesn't wanted to be disturbed by such a "small" problem.

They have a diagram in the manual, but it is only for the 25-male pins end of the cable and they asssume one has to connect the 9-female pins end according to the RS 232 standard.

Before trying that, I hope that someone here has a reliable diagram for both ends of that cable.

    Thank you in advance,

    Radu

If it names the pin out designations as standard RS232 then it should be easy to convert over from 25p to 9 pin in order to make up a cable.

Thanks Scanbooster! Just found this thread after messing around for quite a while with different cables. Roland rep said to buy a USB parallel cable - which I did. Couldn't get that to work but made a cable with your pinouts and I have a scan underway right now.
Thanks to cnczone for keeping these posts live for so long.

    Hi

I was wondering if since you have a Roland you might be able to post or email [email protected] some photos of how the wire is routed through the pulleys to move the cutting head (not the spindle to motor belt but the x,y and z positioning wires). I would really appreciate it if you could do this!

    Thanks in advance!
