Am I the only guy milling steel on my Chinese 6040??

I can't even find youtube videos on it. Anyone else milling steel with their 6040 routers? I ripping up hot rolled steel right now with my 12.7mm end mill at 2,500mm/min feed, 1mm doc, 11mm step over. Its doing great so far, my end mill inserts last a long time & non indexable end mills can mill for days.

I have been milling 6061 with a substantially stiffer machine than a 6040, a 2.2kw spind with a smaller D end mill, slightly less aggressive feeds, and smaller step over. I too would like to see a vid.

The guy in this vid has a machine that is probably comparable to mine (as much as you can tell from a pic) and he is doing 700mm/m, 4mm endmill, full WOC, .5mm DOC. And the coated end mill is sparking; so I wonder about the life. Perhaps if he had at least some air cooling the cutter and aiding in chip evac. IDK. I have this vid bookmarked in case I need a part in steel.

Also looked at ONSRUD 83-300 series router bits that are made for high speed milling of steel.

Well I checked YouTube to see if anyone was doing what OP was claiming and I came across his YouTube.

    Vid

You should upload a new vid where I assume you have a little more experience with the tooling.
