    2d / 3d

Surface area can be determined in 2d but 3d is needed for volume / mass.

So won't the original application in which the 3D CAD file was generated give you the numbers you want?
ACAD, Solid Works, Inventor. pro-Eng etc etc will all give you mass properties. What is the file format?

For the mass properties to be accurate, don't forget to set the materials properties to the material you want.

this might be something worth looking at, not sure if it will import a file though.

    Hello Dear Friends,
Is there any visual basic 6.0 source code that converts DXF or DWG file into G-code? I want to add this code in my final year project.
