    Home Machine before starting program

    Hello Everyone,

I have a 2008 Yama Seiki that I bought used and there are some weird things going on with it.

When ever you start a program or MDI in a go to command, the machine must start from the home position or be home first. I understand the machine has to be homed when you first turn it on but this machine needs to be homed everything you jog the axis it around. If you leave in in auto mode and continue running the program over and over its fine but as soon as you switch it to RAPID or HAND JOB, it needs to be homed or it will say axis over travel or go somewhere else. It is a Fanuc 0i controller.

    Any help would be great.

    Thank you

Give us a sample of your program. If you're using a G92, you might experience a problem like this. G92 will take your current position and change it to the values in the your G92 line. Bad if it's not the same position (home) every time.

    Here is a sample program:

    O1226 (T4-T4I)
    (T7 D=0.3937 CR=0. - ZMIN=-0.825 - RIGHT HAND TAP)
    G90 G94 G17 G49 G40 G80
    G20
    G28 G91 Z0.
    G90

    (DRILL5)
    T7 M06
    S283 M03
    G54
    M08
    G00 X3.375 Y-5.25
    G43 Z0.6 H07
    G00 Z0.2
    M29 S283
    G98 G84 X3.375 Y-5.25 Z-0.825 R0.19 P0 F19.5
    X0.625 Y-3.
    X3.375 Y-0.75
    X6.125 Y-3.
    G80
    Z0.6

    M09
    G28 G91 Z0.
    G28 X0. Y0.
    M30
    %

I also forgot mention if I MDI "G0 G54 G90 X0. Y0." It will make home where it is currently at and then TRY to go there but it will send it somewhere else.

Isn't it related to "manual absolute" setting in controller? I remember i had same problem when using programs + manual wheel.

This might be my problem! Do you know how to turn it off a fanuc oi controller?

Sorry, not really, on my old controller it was under the settings menu.

This is handled in the ladder. Check the signals to see what is required to turn on and off.
