Postprocessor Maho philips 532 for Onecnc

    Hello everyone.

We have here a Maho MH800E2 from 1996 almost new.
That's because no one want to programm that crappy controller.
But i want to use it because technically it is the best machine we have here.
Normaly i write the postprocessors for my self with ONECNC XR5 expert.
But this one is a Horizontal machine.
But we want to use it like a vertical mill.
The problem we walk in to is, the normaly Z axis is here a Y axis.
And the normaly Y axis is here a Z axis.
And the X axis counts the wrong way, +- must be changed.
I can't find on the internet how to change it in the postprocessor editor.
Is there somebody who can tell me?
Or maybe you have the right postprocessor for me.
    Any help would be apreciated.

    Kind regards Branko from Holland

    Hello Branko ,

Congrats on your machine , I have a 1986 model. You can change the axis from Y to Z and the orientation of the X from the machine constants so you can have a normal G17 plane vertical machine. It was difficult for me also in the first 2-3 days of working with the machine , having worked on Fanuc and Siemens but in the end Y or Z is just a denomination so I keep it as it is.Your programming team should really try to "exercise" their brain more . The problem if you change the axis is that you will have the same problem when you want to work with the horizontal spindle. It's a great controller , only Heidenhain can match it. I use Edge Cam with a custom post processor. All high end Cam software must have the option to allow users to make their own posts. My biggest problem with my post is that I can't really use cutter radius compenstion since the Philips controller requires a line with G43 or G44 (like Fanuc for height offsets) before cutter compensation can apply. So I use only cutter center tool paths.

    Regards
    Viorel
