    Vacuum table - power question

I am looking to purchase a 4-axis rotating spindle CNC router and have a question about the size of the Vacuum pump appropriate for the 5x10 table. It has 6 vacuum zones.

Is a 10hp/7.5kW Becker oil-free pump enough to do an adequate job? CFM open flow 173 @ 25in Hg

I will be holding 3-6" soft PU foam. It is open cell and porous so a tight suction might not occur. (I have yet to test this completely).

Re: Vacuum table - power question

We use two of those on our 5x12 table cutting cabinet parts. We only have 1 zone.
I've never cut foam, so I don't know how well it will hold. I suspect it will work, if you can close off any unused area of the spoilboard.
