    /2 Work Offset Input

    Another dumb question-
On a Fanuc Oi-MC, is it possible to divide a measured offset number when inputting a work offset?

Let's say I want to set G54 Y to the middle of a workpiece. I touch off on the side closest to me, enter "Y0" and "Measure." I move to the other side of the work piece, and pick up the far side... Is there a way to automatically divide the distance and get a precise workpiece Y center? Like "Y/2' and "Measure"?

Tormach makes this super easy on Path Pilot. I fear with Fanuc, it might be a "whip out the calculator" sorta deal.

    Re: /2 Work Offset Input

A simple way is to measure the Y-width. If it is 100, punch Y-(50 plus tool radius)>MEASUR when the tool touches the lower Y-edge.
If it is a cylinder, and you wish to locate the center, it is a probing-like application.
