in Mastercam when I create a g73 chip break operation I only get the option to enter "first peck" and all others "subsequent peck", "peck clearance", "retract amount", "dwell", and "shift" are all inactive. The post outputs a V,Q,U, and D variable that all default to .1". I am going to get this post modified as I have a maintenance license with Mastercam, but I just want to be sure of the following: V= first peck depth, Q= subsequent peck depth, and D= retract amount? What is the U variable? also what is shift?
As for g83 my post outputs a V,Q, and a D, which I believe to be correct as I should only need 3 variables to peck drill? or am I missing anything

The variables will depend on the control manufacturer so I would read the manual supplied with the machine
