Looking for suggestions on THC controler

    Hi,
I have a route table that I have converted to plasma. I am having trouble finding a reasonable priced THC that works. Tried Proma 150 Compact, Compact THC3T-01 and both have not done what I need. I will be cutting a lot of 12 and 14 ga steel and many 1/2 to 3/4in holes. I need good advice on a THC. Running Cutmaster 52 SL60 hand torch with Mach3.

If those two won't do what you need, it begs the question, "in what way did they fail?"

CandCNC product is a big step up. MP3000-DTHC Series

Neuron is another I hear good things about. Neuron Lite

Thanks those were two I was looking at. Proma was very slow and torch dove many times into plate....the THC03-01 I have not been able to get it to send up or down singles to Mach3. I was thinking about giving Proma another try with there SD version that has the step/dir control to see if it had better response time.

The way the THC3T-01 works, or is set up, is a little different to the Proma.

How do you have the input signals connected to Mach3?

They are not solenoid switches like the Proma. They provide a voltage to common or ground when active.

I had to put opto isolators between the THC3T-01 and my break out board because of the hardware I am using.

Run the plasma with the "Arc voltage from Plasma" screen showing. Then set the "Voltage Setpoint" to match that.

Set the "Area of Control" to 20 volts and work down from there. It is not a hysteresis setting as on some other THC. It is a set voltage variation threshold.

That is to say if the plasma voltage varies from the set voltage by more than this setting, then no up/down signal will be sent.
