Specifically g73. I cant enter values for subsequent peck, peck clearance and retract amount as they are greyed out. the post outputs the default values. Is there a way to turn these on?

These fields (peck clearance & retract amount ) are not needed as it is defined in the machine's parameters
What machine control ?


G73 would normally only need a Q (peck) and a P (dwell time) [apart from the obvious XYZR] .... the subsequent peck is not functional on many controls

G83.....depends on the control, but, still the same as for the G73
(ie Okumas use an IJK for mini pecks between each full rectacts )

its a milltronics 7200. my code outputs a V=initial depth Q=subsequent peck U= retract amount, and D= peck clearance. All the values in the code are defaulting to .1" as that's what is in the greyed out boxes. I like the option to modify these as I do manually right now. In g83 the options are open for first peck, subsequent peck, and peck clearance? Could this be a post issue?

COPY your CNC_Machine, Control, pst files to a different area before doing any modifications on the original files
( if you stuff up, just copy the backups to overwrite the originals)


Your post would need mods in the "Drilling" area of the post, namely the "pchpbrk$ #Canned Chip Break Cycle"
it needs to be able to process the additional fields.......this bit may need a more experienced person

Your "Control" file needs to have those fields enabled
select your machine type ( should load into the Op manager )
>> Settings pulldown >> edit machine definition file
( this opens the file that pulls in the post & control file)
in this dialog box, select the "Control" icon ( looks like a PC screen )
you need to look at the Canned Cycle & Text areas
