Try the older version first. Seriously, 3.043.066 is garbage, and is not recommended.

You shouldn't have to do anything but install the other version. Installing over the top doesn't normally change any settings.
You can make a backup of your .xml, and should always have a backup. It's in the Mach3 folder, yourprofilename.xml

Okay...well thats painless then...i assumed i would have to uninstall the current version first....
comments always display in the message readout - that's normal
the only way I can replicate that result is to undefine or disable the Z axis configuration - then it just stops on line N03
I can't believe it's a screenset issue or that there's anything wrong with mach3 2010

will have to verify this...but seems like if i start mach and immediately load a gcode file then it works.
This morning loaded up a file, zero'd everything cycle start..nothing. Close mach, load file, zero, worked fine....
I've just done a test of a full install of the suggested older version over a working existing later version on a Windows 7 machine and can confirm that all settings and license are still in place and the machine works perfectly.
I did back up the whole Mach3 folder plus screenshots of all config pages, as you should, but in this instance everything worked just fine.
It's easy to be brave when you have a full clone of your PC sitting on the shelf ;-)

ok, great. If it becomes troublesome i will install. For now, its loading gcode right off the bat always works for me....
installed the older version as suggested...makes no difference...sometimes works sometimes doesn't....but if l start mach and immediately load my gcode works every time....
