When using a roughing cycle in a bore as the last operation Mastercam sends the tool home without retracting out of the bore. (OUCH!) Am I missing something simple?
Thanks,
Jim

clearance plane in linking parameters most likely.
can also play around with Ref points for the beginning and ending of a path
Thanks mkd for the reply. I can find no clearance plane field in the lathe rough cycle. I redescribed the stock so it showed material on the outside and now it works just fine. I think as long as I include the outside of the part on the inner stock boundry it will work.
Forever learning!
Silly me I was thinking mill.
Ref points are still good to use (always) while doing ID work in mastercam for the reason you describe.
Also create a geometry point outside the part at ,say, 1 inch z+ . IIRC you can select it before and after your chain.
Let us know how that works for you.
Faking stock def is powerful but not the best way. Often you will have it faced before ID work
