    The new gearboxes are in and they look very good.
    The pics show the 1KW motor and gearbox combo against one of the 400W servos:

    Well, after having been let down again by my local fabricator I've actually started on the steel work myself.
    Today I made a start on sizing all the structural steel for the sub frame. This is big stuff and very heavy: 250mmx150mm and either 8mm wall or 12mm.
    Hopefully tomorrow I will have it all cut up and then I can start on the welding.

    All the steel for the base is now cut up to size:

    Decided to finally get on with this build today.
    I started to weld one of the three leg sections together. This is a fair amount of work as the steel is very thick.
    I had to install a lifting eye on the bottom cross member just so I could flip the section over for welding.

    Lol, you say that but that's 1/2" wall box section. Stuff doing that with my Dewalt XR! At least I hand tapped it.

    Just to let everyone know that this project is still alive.
    However a couple of weeks ago I was offered another Tekcel router that needed a bit of work at a price I couldn't refuse.
    Today was the first day running both side by side.

    When this big build is done that will be 4 routers in production:

    @Matth

    If you ever decide to get rid of the 400w servos, hit me up or post them in the classified section. I had just started looking around for servos to upgrade my machine from steppers.

    Other than that, nice looking build. Just wish I had the time and money to put into a heavy duty build like this lol.
