    Archsakas,

Are you applying +5 vdc to pul+ and dir+ on stepper drive?

Then connect step and dir from DDUM to pul- and dir- on stepper drive.

Re: DDUM4 V1.0 and DDCM6V5.0 not working with M542T driver

I connected exactly as in manual, that is common positive wire (+dir and +puls) and separate negatives to -dir and -puls. It says in mamual there is no EN signal.
On DDCM6V1 Later I have found that then I set "step low active", motors works but not properly.
ON DDUM4V1 there are separete 4 wires for step and dir +and -. I could not wire them wrong..

    Archsakas,

Try using version 3.042.040 of Mach3, the newer versions are not compatible with USBmove.dll version 2.01.9

    nop.. doesn't work..
    Still testing DDUM4
My osciloscope shows some signal when I move axis, but motor does not turn.. I tried nema 17 and nema 23, and a few new M542T drivers. Still does not work.
I am going to return this card to the seller..

Hang on... if your scope is hooked to the step signal coming out of the DDUM4, then the only way it could be the problem is if the step pulse width is too narrow for the M542T driver. I've seen that before, and it's one of the reasons why my THB6064AH driver is popular with Marlin / RAMPS people... other drivers can't manage the narrow step.

If you zoom in with your scope, can you measure the width of one step pulse?

What step width does the M542T require?

    James,

The pulse width output of the DDUM board is 2.5us and is not adjustable however the buffer is:

    James,

The minimum pulse width requirement for the 542 drive is 1.5us

Huh... so it should be working. Again, if the DDUM is producing steps, and they are wide enough, then IT is not the problem.

I wonder if the Sherline mode would help.

Unfortunately, I cant measure width of the pulse.
I tried "sherline" mode, but nothing changed.
I tried "step low active" in motors tab, nothing changed..
DDUM should be producing width enough pulse, but I guess it does not..

Did you try and increase the buffer settings?

Re: DDUM4 V1.0 and DDCM6V5.0 not working with M542T driver

I tried to change buffer settings to maximum, but nothing changed.
he is what I see on my ossiloscope the I try to move axis
    link

distance between two white vertical lines is 20 ms, so it should be about 5 ms, I guess..
so maybe the pulse width is OK, dont know any more...

Try measuring the pul+ and dir+ to make sure +5 volts is there.

    pulse signal

    here

now I can see pulse looks good, 5 volts there (right bottom corner "Vmax")

    dir signal

    here

    5 volts there is..

Does the motor lock up when the driver is powered?

1: Trying to follow the wiring while the camera is in motion sucks, take some time and post good still images!
