Need suggestions on what to purchase...

    Hi Guys,
I've been wanting to get into this for some time now but never got around to it.
i could really use some help in picking a setup that meets my needs and budget !!!!
l hand carve E-pipes as a hobby and am finding a lot of people want to buy them but I don't have the time to fill orders fast enough. So I'm thinking about using cnc to do most of my cutting and I'll finish the details on my own. I also like the idea of cutting patterns from sheet material for other projects. So for the pipes, a work area of 15"x15"x15" ( just in case I feel the need to do larger carvings) and 4'x 4'or 4'x8' for sheet work. I'll be cutting hardwoods not much of any metal .
Ill need a setup that has everything including software except a PC which I have an extra.
My budget is in the $5000 to $8000 range.
Thanks for any help, please excuse my lack of terminology !!!!!
    Lou

Ps, I've attached some photos of the work I do and am trying to do on cnc.

That might buy you the SW and the tooling for the work. It will NOT buy you a machine able to do that.

For a start, I think those pipes would need a 5-axis machine and top-end SW, like Delcan.

    But what would I know?

    Hi Lou,

I am based in Hallam, Victoria and would be happy to work with you and your budget to build a machine locally that supports your requirements. Any machine we build or supply is fully supported and we can also work with you form a training/guidance/hand holding perspective to ensure you are up and producing items.

With regards to 5-axis milling I would suggest avoiding being sucked into such a black hole , as 4 sided and/or rotary milling will meet your requirements.

    Hi Stephen.
Off topic, but I thought I would mention it.
I was just browsing, and I clicked on the link to your website.
And I noticed that your address is missing the street name.
    'Factory 12, 45 Hallam, 3803 Victoria, Australia'
It's often the simple things that get overlooked.

    Cheers,
    Michael.
