    HELP with MACH3 software

Hi- I'm building a CNC and am using Mach3 operating system purchased from CNCRouterparts.com. As I was setting up the machine when I jogged the machine both motors rotated in the same direction and it worked correctly. When I tried REF ALL HOME the motors rotated in opposite directions which almost caused a disaster. Does anybody know why this happened and how I can fix it. Thanks

Assuming your talking about a master and slave axis, go into Config > Homing/Limits, and make sure the settings are the same for both the master and slave axis.

Hi Gerry- Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately I'm not real computer savvy. I took a picture of the screen in config. Can you take a look at it and tell me if I have the settings correctly? Thanks again for your help.Attachment 318472

I don't know which axis are your master and slave, but the "Home Neg." column should be the same for both, and it's not. It's what controls homing direction.

    Re: HELP with MACH3 software

I just went down to my workshop (I don't have email access on my CNC computer) and shut the machine down and restarted it. The machines travels to the side stop fine when it starts heading to the end stop the right side motor seems to be jumping. Can I text you a video of whats happening? If so whats your cell number.

    Re: HELP with MACH3 software

If your slave is the A axis, set the homing speed to 20, instead of 10. That should fix it.
Also, in General Config, make sure that Home Slave with Master is Not checked (assuming that you are using a separate switch on each side.)
