Dear God... How big of an extrusion do you need? They make a 3" x 6"

Magnode in Monroe, Ohio can make extrusions up to 17" in diameter.

Their website doesn't seem to be working at the moment, otherwise I'd post the link.

Isn't 35mm around an 1.5"? They make 80/20 plenty big enough for that size. The 3" wide should do fine. However, you're going to pay for it.

Why can't you use aluminum channel to support the bearings?

80/20 is over kill in my opinion. Take a look at Shopbottools.com table. They even have plans for it. This is what I am using only aluminum.

    Up to you though.

I believe the 80/20 that is 3x6 is around $2.50 an INCH so times that by 60 and you are looking at $150.00 just for one rail.

I called 80/20 and they said they did not make anything big enough to have a t slotted part to be 35 mm. I will take a look at the website you gave me.

    Thanks a lot...keep em comming!

P.S. can you send me a link to shopbottools page where the aluminum chanels are? I couldn't find them...

You don't want the the THK rail to sit in the T-Slot... You want it to sit above it and use a T-nut in the T-slot so that you can bolt the THK rail to the 80/20.

For a long time, one of the leaders in extrusions for machine building has been ITEM, they have been taken over by Parker at http://www.parker.com/ead/cm1.asp?cmid=809
