    Mach3 and Drivertest.exe

    Hello,
I want to drive my lathe with Mach3 and external controllers, but with no sucsess. I buy a computer and a card with two printerports and install Mach3. When I run the Drivertest.exe the message on the screen is: "System excellent", up to 100kHz. Does this mean that the printerports are correct working? What will be a good working frequency with Mach3 and Printerports?

    Many thanks for every answer

    Hans

The "System Excellent" is rather meaningless.
You want to see a steady pulse rate, and a flat line with no spikes.

You want to use the lowest kernel speed that you need that will provide your maximum velocity. Higher kernel speeds can make the PC unstable.
