Hi,
This is my second post here. As all we know laser cutters/engravers improved a lot during the recent years. However, are the current laser cutters able to mill small (80mm x 20mm, height: 3mm) acrylic pieces (as a router do) with the same accuracy in the Z-Axis? AFAIK, laser cutters may have a better X and Y resolution but Z resolution is just fine for decorative engraving but not so much for pieces production. Am I right?

Milling?
I don't think so, cutting and engraving yes.
For "milling" you would need to do an engraving at the right speed and power to remove the material.
Due to the nature of the optics and plastic I highly doubt this would be possible with the accuracy you seek.

Thank you for your reply. I thought the same but just wanted to know if this could be possible in the future. This video is impressive but there's no info about Z-Axis accuracy.

Well that is basically the same I do on wood but the problem I see is the focal lenght.
I am quite sure that for this to work on arcylic you will need a quite short focal lenght.
Don't have any acrylic left otherwise I would run a quick test and post the results with a standard lens.
